MARKET LIVE: Sensex at day's high, zooms 500 pts; PSB, pharma stocks gain

The benchmark indices were trading around one per cent higher in Tuesday's noon deals, lifted by public sector banks, tech, and pharma stocks.

Among headline indices, the S&P BSE Sensex was up over 500 points at 44,662 level and the Nifty50 index hovered around the 13,100-mark. Ultratech Cement (up 3%) was the top Sensex gainer, followed by Infosys, Sun Pharma, PowerGrid, and Bajaj Auto (all up 1%).

The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was mixed, with Nifty Realty index, up 3 per cent, leading the list of gainers.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were trading half a per cent higher, each.
