Gurugram businessman waylaid, robbed of car at gunpoint

GURUGRAM: A businessman was allegedly robbed of his car at gunpoint by five armed men in Sector 86 on Sunday night. According to the complainant, the accused intercepted his car and forced him to hand over his car keys.
Police said the crime took place around 9.30pm when the victim, Amit Kumar, a resident of New Town Heights, was returning from work to his house in Sector 86. “He had reached near Kherki Daula when a speeding Maruti Esteem car, in which the five suspects were sitting, intercepted him.
Vishal Kumar, SHO, Kherki Daula police station, said that the robbers pulled Amit out of his vehicle and forced him to hand over the car keys. “One of the assailants pointed a gun at the victim and asked him to sit in the rear seat of his car. When Amit objected, two of them pushed him on the rear seat and thrashed him. The other accused in the Esteem followed behind him,” the officer added.
The miscreants for more than an hour took rounds of Sector 86 and snatched Rs 5,000 from him. A case was lodged under sections 392 (robbery), 379 B (punishment for snatching) and 365 (kidnapping) of IPC and Section 25/54/59 of Arms Act at Kherki Daula police station on Monday.
