Delhi Government reduces RT PCR test rates to Rs 800 in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Delhi government announced on Monday that it is reducing the charges for the RT-PCR COVID tests in Delhi taken by private labs and hospitals to Rs 800, and Rs 1200, respectively, in case the samples are collected via home visits.
This was announced after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave directions to reduce the rates for the tests in Delhi.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed about this by taking to twitter where he said ''RT PCR tests rates
reduced in Delhi. Whereas tests are being conducted free of cost in government establishments.''
Earlier the price for the Rt PCR test was capped at Rs 2400 in the national capital, which has now been reduced to Rs 800.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier in the day said that he had given directions to reduce the rates and said that the move will help those who get themselves tested in private labs.
''I have directed that the rates of RT PCR tests be reduced in Delhi. Whereas tests are being conducted free of cost in government establishments, however this will help those who get their tests done in private labs,'' Kejriwal tweeted.
