M&M sales rise 4% yoy to 42,731 vehicles in Nov 2020 led by a stellar performance in PV segment

The company's passenger vehicles (PV) segment recorded a sales of 18,212 vehicles in November 2020, a growth of 24% over the same period last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) overall sales in November 2020, stood at 42,731 vehicles compared to sales of 41,235 vehicles in November 2019, registering a growth of 4%.

The company's passenger vehicles (PV) segment recorded a sales of 18,212 vehicles in November 2020, a growth of 24% over the same period last year. This included UVs, Cars and Vans segments.

Mahindra saw a strong performance in utility vehicles, where sales were at 17,971 vehicles in November 2020, compared to 14,161 vehicles in November 2019, registering a growth of 27%.

Talking about PV segment, Veejay Nakra, Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, “At Mahindra, we are happy to achieve strong double-digit growth in SUVs during the month of November, aided by robust festive demand for all our products. Given strong rural growth and signs of improvement in economic activities, we are hopeful to see this positive momentum continue to post the festive season.”

Meanwhile, the company registered commercial vehicles sales of 3,854 units in November 2020, down 42% from 6,593 units a year ago same month.

Elaborating further on Pick-Ups and Commercial Vehicles performance, Nakra said, “We have witnessed double-digit growth in Pick-ups. Our Small Commercial Vehicle brands Bolero Pik Up, Supro and Jeeto continue to see strong demand in both rural and urban markets.”

At around 1.39 pm, M&M was trading at Rs729.75 per piece up Rs9.70 or 1.35% on Sensex.
