A 35-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by an unknown person following a scuffle at the Phase 6 market last evening.
The victim has been identified as Kuljinder Singh Dhillon, a resident of Balongi. Kuljinder was staying in a rented accommodation here with his wife. He was into the liquor business in Sector 56, Chandigarh, said the police.
SP (City) Harwinder Singh Virk said Kuljinder was in Phase 6 near Shivalik Public School with his friends when he had heated arguments with another party. An unidentified person took out a knife and attacked him. The suspect fled the spot. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital by an auto driver where doctors declared him brought dead. “The killer will be nabbed soon,” said Virk. The postmortem of the victim was conducted today and the body handed over to his family. A case of murder has been registered on a statement of the victim’s wife, Nisha, at the Phase 1 police station. —TNS
