Tribute to Maradona at Mao

Mao, November 30 2020: Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) and Mao Football Association (MFA) played a friendly football match at Asufii FIFA AstroTurf Punanamei, Mao on Sunday.

The match was organized as a tribute to the football legend Diego Maradona (1960-2020) who passed away on the 25th November 2020 .

In a short, yet solemn ceremony, president of Mao Football Association, Kaisu Arche addressing the small gathering delivered the welcome note and exhorted the need to promote sports among the youngsters in the district.

He also lauded the effort of the Senapati District Olympic Association in promoting sports, creating avenues and platforms for sports enthusiasts and sports lovers of the district.

Addressing the gathering the president of the SDOAM lauded the initiative of MFA and stressed the need for SDOAM and MFA to work together to promote sporting talents in the district.

The exhibition match went in favour of SDOAM with the score-line of 12-6 .
