Even after seeing incredibly risky behaviors, some respondents felt compelled to keep quiet. Other times, people did choose to say something to the driver, which didn’t always go smoothly. LeithCars.com found that:
- 97% of people have confronted a distracted driver while riding in their car, but less than 10% admit to confronting a ride-hail or taxi driver
- More than 1 in 3 people have witnessed a driver actively using Facebook
- 27% of people have witnessed a driver drink alcohol, yet only 12% admit to confronting them
- Baby boomers believe texting is more dangerous than drunk driving, while millennials believe the opposite.
