Mumbai: Two sarees as bribe with Rs 2 lakh! Class-I govt officer held

MUMBAI: A senior official of the Cooperative Registrar’s office was caught, with his son, by Anti Corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh and 2 sarees worth Rs 7,500 on Monday.
Bharat Kakad, class-I rank officer, office P ward in Thakur Complex in Kandivli was arrested with his son Sachin (32).
The complainant is chairman of Rolex Apts Society, Malad that had sought a nod to use the sinking fund for repairs. Police said it is an unusual case where a class I officer demanded money and sarees.
