The residents in the city can track the number of various applications processed and approved by the Greater Chennai Corporation as the civic body has created a dashboard on its official website. According to a Chennai Corporation official, the new dashboard would be updated every day and residents could see the live updates once the applications are approved.
Chennai: As per the new feature, residents can track the number of new building plan approvals, completion certificates issued, plans approved, road cuts, new profession registration, new trade registration and trade renewal. “The new feature has been introduced on a trial basis and it will be further improved. This is a requirement under ease of doing business initiative,” the official said.
As of Monday, the civic body had approved 17,703 trade licence renewal applications in the current financial year. As many as 4,617 new trades have been registered while 7,428 new professionals have registered with the civic body. Also, 1,895 building plan approvals have been issued.
It may be noted that the state government, to boost ease of doing business is creating a comprehensive web portal for issuing building plan approval.
Meanwhile, the civic body also released the list of relief centres and cooking centres with their address and the contact details of the officials, who are in charge of the facilities, on its website. The relief centres have been set up to shelter those affected by flooding during the monsoon.
