Coronavirus News LIVE Updates: Today is the 252nd day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. So far, India has recorded 94,31,692 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,37,139 deaths. A total of 88,47,600 people have recuperated from COVID-19 so far. There are 4,46,952 active cases in the country as of date, which comprises 4.74 percent of the total caseload, the data stated. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. India's recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 93.81 percent. Globally, more than 6.22 crore people have been infected by the coronavirus and 14.54 lakh have died so far. Himachal Pradesh reported an all-time high of 1,026 new cases in a day with a recovery rate of 76.8 percent, lowest in the country. Total cases in the state now above 40,000.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra LIVE Updates | 728 new COVID-19 cases in Thane, tally reaches 2,28,588
The COVID-19 tally in Maharashtra's Thane district has risen to 2,28,588 with the addition of 728 new cases of the disease, a district administration official said on Monday. The district has also reported eight more deaths due to COVID-19, raising the toll to 5,677, he said.
Currently, there are 7,946 active coronavirus cases in the district, while 2,14,965 patients have recovered, he said. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the district is 94.94 percent, while the mortality rate is 2.48 percent. The active cases comprise 3.48 per cent of the total coronavirus infections reported in the district so far, the official said.
Coronavirus News LIVE Updates | Archer Kapil tests positive for COVID-19
Archer Kapil, who is part of the ongoing national camp at the Army Sports Institute (ASI) here, has tested positive for COVID-19, the Sports Authority of India said on Monday. "He is asymptomatic and being monitored by a medical team," the SAI said in a press release."He was in quarantine and had not come into contact with any other campers."
SAI said Kapil was tested as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the archers who are part of the national camp. They have to undergo RT-PCR tests on arrival. "Kapil was on 18 days leave and was tested on arrival upon his rejoining the camp as per the standard SOP established by SAI."
Archer Himani Malik had tested positive for COVID-19 early in the month. (PTI)

Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 caseload rose to 16,269, as seven more people tested positive for the virus, a health department official said here on Monday. Three more persons succumbed to the infection, pushing the number of fatalities in the northeastern state to 54, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Forty-one more people recovered from COVID-19, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 15,364. Arunachal Pradesh now has 851 active coronavirus cases, the official said.

Three more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram in the last 24 hours, taking the state's coronavirus tally to 3,826, an official said on Monday.
The new cases were reported from Aizawl district, the official said. According to the official, there are at present 381 active COVID-19 cases in the state while 3,440 people have recovered from the disease.
The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state now is 89.92 percent. Mizoram has also reported 5 COVID-19 fatalities so far. The state has tested 1,49,379 samples for COVID-19 till date, the official added. (PTI)
