Imphal, November 29 2020: Inspector Lisam Premchand who sustained grievous injuries in a mob attack while chasing a consignment of ganja six years back at Nambol Maibam Lotpa Ching succumbed to the injuries at Raj Medicity this afternoon.

Lisam Premchand was then serving as the Officer in-Charge of Nambol police station.

Premchand and his team were attacked by a mob as they went to seize ganja at Nambol Maibam Lotpa Ching on September 30, 2014 .

The mob, apart from attacking the police team, set ablaze a police Gypsy.

After fighting the injuries for a prolonged period, Premchand succumbed to the injuries today.

The body has been taken to RIMS mortuary for post mortem, informed a source.
