Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt was delighted with his team's 1-0 win over PWD Bamenda in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.

Amakhosi travelled to Cameroon for the first leg of their tie and came out on top in a dramatic game. Erick Mathoho provided the solitary strike for the away side, and Itumeleng Khune had to pull off a penalty save in the last few minutes to preserve the victory.

Hunt, who has endured a difficult start at Chiefs this season, was impressed by his charges and praised them for dealing with difficult conditions in Limbe.

"Under very trying circumstances, I thought it was an unbelievable result. To travel to get to this game is unbelievable, and everything around the game was really difficult so I think it was a fantastic effort," said Hunt, as quoted by KickOff.

"We could have made the game safer; we had a lot of good opportunities but didn't score and I thought, 'Here we go again'.

"But we got the goal and we knew straight away there was going to be problems after that. Luckily, we scored the goal nice and late.

"That should never have been a penalty, you know that's the problem. But I said to the players once we scored, there's going to be problems. So, we got a little bit of just reward."
