PM Modi to visit his parliamentary constituency on Dev Deepawali

Varanasi, Nov 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency on the occasion of Dev Deepawali on Monday afternoon when he will inaugurate the Rs 2,447 crore six-lane highway project from Prayagraj to Varanasi.



PM Modi is visiting his constituency, after a gap of 9 months, to attend the ‘Dev Deepawali’ festivities to be held at Rajghat followed by a laser show.



After attending the festivities, PM will visit the light and sound show at the Sarnath Archaeological Complex.



After launching the developmental projects, PM is also slated to address a small public meeting.



The National Highway- 2 that PM will inaugurate today is a significant project which connects the two oldest and sacred cities - Prayag (Prayagraj) and Kashi (Varanasi). This highway is also a major part of the Golden Quadrilateral Project-1 (Delhi-Kolkata corridor). Earlier, the journey between these two cities used to take about three and a half hours, however, after the completion of this project, the journey will be reduced to one and a half hours.



The PM accompanied by UP governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath, is also exprected to pray at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and reivew the progress of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor project.



As per the schedule, at around 1410 hours, PM Modi will arrive in the city to attend Dev Deepawali festivities till 0850 hours. He will spend about seven hours in his parliamentary constituency where he will travel by a cruise from Rajghat to Lalita Ghat to attend the festivities. Following which he will go to Sarnath to see the teachings of Lord Buddha through an engaging light and sound show.



The district administration has geared up for the PM’s visit, heavy police have been deployed, while a special reception has been arranged at the Ganga Ghats.



The Dev Deepawali of Varanasi is a world-famous event and this time 11 lakh diyas will be lit at the ghats of Varanasi. Earlier on Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Varanasi to take stock of the preparations for the PM’s visit.

Collision hurts 12

Satna, MP, Nov 29 (UNI) A dozen passengers sustained injuries on Sunday when a pickup vehicle conveying them was rammed head on by a privately-owned bus – heading for Chitrakoot from here – in the vicinity of Hiroudi village, law-enforcement authorities said.
Three serious cases were admitted at the District infirmary whereas the others are undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Majhgawan.

Bhopal, Nov 29 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed satisfaction on Sunday over the rate of novel coronavirus infection declining in the state owing to ceaseless endeavours.
“Earlier; approximately 1,800 fresh cases were being reported daily but that figure has declined to the vicinity of 1,500. However, greater alertness is imperative vis-à-vis Indore and Bhopal districts where containment zones have been demarcated,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying during a review meeting.

4 babies die on single night at govt hosp

Shahdol, MP, Nov 29 (UNI) The District infirmary administration has gone into a tizzy after four infants died at the Special New-born Care Unit on the intervening night of November 26-27.
Civil Surgeon VS Bariya attributed one of the fatalities to pneumonia but denied any negligence on part of the hospital staff.
