Stating that in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party is providing free electricity and water, as well as free transport for women, the interim convenor of AAP in Goa, Rahul Mhambre on Monday said that Goans are facing the issue of erratic electricity, with the students missing their online classes due to fluctuating current.
“Today electricity is a necessity and not a luxury,” he maintained.
AAP also declared that it will be starting ‘Veej Andolan’ or power agitation in Goa, in which its workers would be approaching people to understand their power-related problems.
“This agitation will begin from December 1 and continue till December 19,” Mhambre said, pointing out that AAP is set to have four meetings every evening, till December 19 as a part of this agitation.
It was also informed that the findings of the referendum conducted during the agitation would be presented to the Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant.
The four meetings to be held on the first day are scheduled at Benaulim, Sancoale, Karmali, and Saligao.
AAP has requested locals to attend the meetings and bring along their electricity bills so that the related problems could be discussed at the meeting itself.
More than 600 AAP volunteers across Goa are visiting every household in Goa, to spread awareness about the agitation.
Mhambre also urged the public to give a missed call on 7504750475 after which an SMS would be sent asking them to fill a form, which will help AAP in interacting with the state government on the issue.
