Nine non-Congress opposition parties extend support to farmers' movement

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Nine non-Congress Opposition parties met here on Monday to extend support to the ongoing agitation of farmers across the country and demanded the Government immediately repeal the three controversial agricultural laws.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M), Communist Party of India (CPI), Forward Bloc (FB), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were among the parties which held their Delhi unit meeting here and not only supported the ongoing farmers' agitation but also strongly condemned the Government's "repressive action" against them.
According to a joint statement by the Delhi State CPI, CPI (M), NCP, DMK, RJD, RSP, Forward Bloc there was a meeting on the "oppressive behaviour" of the Central and Haryana governments. The meeting passed a resolution of full support to the peasant movement against the three anti-farmer agriculture bills and demanded the Union Government immediately repeal these capitalist agrarian laws and the government immediately negotiate unconditionally with the Joint Farmers' Committee of Farmers Organisations.
The meeting appealed to the people of Delhi to extend their full support to the food givers of the country and give all possible help. After the meeting, all the leaders came out of Ajoy Bhavan and demonstrated on the road in support of the farmers' movement and their demands.
In this demonstration, Professor Dinesh Varshney, Secretary CPI Delhi State, K M Tiwari, Secretary, CPI-M, Delhi State, Delhi State, Shatrujit Singh, Secretary RSP Delhi State took part.
