Naidu says he entered podium for the sake of farmers

Vijayawada, Nov 30 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu came down heavily on Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, stating that the Government did not care to take up a meaningful debate on the woes of the cyclone-hit farmers in the State in the Assembly.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu called Chief Minister Jagan Reddy a 'fake CM' who was spending his time by making meaningless and empty statements without any commitment to the people who had fallen for his trap and gave 151 out of the 175 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the former Chief Minister said that he never thought this day would come when he would enter the Speaker's podium in the Assembly to eventually face suspension from the House.
“For the first time in my long career, I faced suspension. I faced this for the sake of the farmers who suffered crop losses extensively during the cyclone. Crop losses were there in over 20 lakh to 25 lakh acres in the past one and half years. The inefficient Chief Minister was making empty laughs in the Assembly but not taking any steps to help the farmers:, Mr.Naidu lambasted.
Mr. Naidu said that he was totally upset about undergoing humiliation and disrespect under the regime of this first-time Chief Minister. No Chief Minister ever dared to mete out such disrespect. Even the mike was not being given to the Opposition Leader in the House.
Like a deranged person, the Chief Minister was laughing and cracking objectionable jokes at Opposition deputy leader Nimmala Rama Naidu on the floor of the House.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu lamented that crops in nearly 14 lakh acres were lost in East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Chittoor, Kadapa and other districts. The harvest-ready crops had been badly damaged. Another 3.3 lakh acres were damaged in heavy rains in October and September.
The Government was making false statements about paying premiums and giving insurance. In a foolish manner, the Chief Minister was talking about his Government's own insurance scheme without the need for depending on the companies.
The TDP chief demanded the Government to explain to the farmers why it failed to pay the crop insurance premium which resulted in a great loss now.
