Brazil's Ministry of Communications has set up the Personal Data Protection Steering Committee to discuss how to comply with the General Data Protection Act (LGPD). The idea is to draw up an action plan for adaptation to the regulations.
Among the committee's tasks is the development, within 30 days, of a privacy governance programme that includes training and awareness actions for the Ministry's teams, and the definition of strategies and guidelines for the activities of the sector that will work with data protection. The team that will be part of the working group will be established at the first meeting of the committee, scheduled for 04 December.
