Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst protests by farmers regarding new agricultural laws.
Gehlot has written this letter about the three new agricultural laws made by the central government, the amendments made in them by the Rajasthan government, and the peasant movement. Through this letter, the Chief Minister has demanded that Prime Minister Modi reconsider these laws to protect the interest and democratic values of farmers.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has written in the letter that these three bills were brought by the central government without discussing them with farmers and experts. The government also ignored the demand by opposition parties in Parliament to send these bills to the Select Committee.
These Acts do not mention the minimum support price, which has led to distrust among farmers. With the implementation of these laws, the farmer will become dependent on private players only. With the formation of private mandis, the existence of long-standing agricultural mandis will also end. Due to this, farmers will not get the right price for their produce.
Significantly, now farmers have come across the mood regarding new agricultural laws. For this reason, farmers have decided to hold protests in all states from December 1.
