Modi on farmers' stir: Those mislead for decades are behind confusing farmers

VARANASI: In an indirect reply to the farmers agitating on Delhi borders PM Narendra Modi alleged that they are misled by those who keep them ditching for decades in the name of MSP, agri loan waiver schemes.
After inaugurating NHAI's project of six-lane conversion of Varanasi-Prayagraj NH-19 at a function in Khajuri village here on Monday afternoon Modi said that nobody is stopping anyone to remain stuck with old provisions. New farm laws and reforms are an option for farmers to increase their income and even those, who are looking resented today, will take benefits of it, said Modi.
If we had to abolish mandis and MSP, we ould not have invested crores on the modernisation of mandis and billions to pay as MSP to farmers against their crops of pulses, paddy and wheat in five years after the formation of my government in 2014, said Modi comparing it with figures of MSP paid by UPA-2 in their regime in same heads
