Iran blames Israel for killing Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

Tehran, Nov 28(UNI) Iran's president Hassan Rouhani on Saturday blamed Israel for the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh the country's top nuclear scientist on Friday, and said this would not slow down the country's nuclear programme.
President Rouhani also said Iran would retaliate and avenge Mohsen Fakhrizadeh's killing at a time of its choosing, the BBC reported.
However, an Israeli cabinet minister said he had "no clue" who were the gunmen who were behind the ambush of Mr Fakhrizadeh's car which led to his death.
Mr Fakhrizadeh was Iran's senior nuclear scientist and was accused by Israel of being an important member of the country's covert nuclear weapons programme.
Fakhrizadeh was Iran's most renowned nuclear scientist, who headed the ministry of defence's research and innovation organisation.
Experts fear that his killing is likely to escalate tensions over Iran's nuclear programme with the US and its close ally Israel.
