Varanasi decked up for PM's visit

Varanasi decked up for PM's visit

Varanasi, Nov 29 (UNI) Amid tight security arrangements, the city of Varanasi is all decked up, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to his constituency on the occasion of Dev Deepawali festival on Monday.

Mr Modi along with Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be taking part of the occasion.

This will be the first time that the Prime Minister visiting in his Parliamentary constituency on a Dev Deepawali festival. He is visiting Varanasi after nine months.

Security in the entire city has been stepped up for the VVIP visit.

During his seven-hour stay in the city, PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation of several big projects before addressing a small public meeting after lighting up 'diyas' at the Ganga ghat on the occasion of Dev Deepawali, followed by a cruise journey and prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. He will also attend the light and sound show at Saranath.

As per the schedule, the PM will reach Varanasi at 1400 hrs on Monday and will return back to Delhi at 2100 hrs.
