Imphal, November 27 2020: Just 48 hours after the Ministry of Home Affairs mandated States to strictly enforce containment measures, SOPs on various activities and Covid Appropriate behaviour and exercise caution and regulate crowds, the State Government has imposed daily night curfew from 6 pm to 4 am all over the State till December 31 or until further orders.

Other than the daily curfew, the State Government has also ordered that social and customary ceremonies should be organised only for family members and in case some other persons are required to attend the function, the size of the gathering should be restricted to 20 or less persons strictly.

The State Government has also issued a new roster for opening of shops at Thangal and Paona Keithel.

An order to this effect was issued by the Chief Secretary and Chairman of the State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority today.

According to the new regulations on opening of shops at Thangal and Paona Keithel, the order said that on Monday shops selling clothes, shoes, stationeries, sports, utensils, crockery, electrical parts, paint, mattress and carpet may open at Thangal Keithel while on the same day at Paona Keithel shops selling luggages and bags, stationeries, jewellery, cosmetics, photos, mattresses and carpets may open.

Tuesday: Thangal Keithel - Furniture, aluminium construction materials, plywood, utensils, electronics, computers, mobiles, weaving yarn; Paona Keithel - Clothes (only eastern side), weaving yarn, cycle, computer, glass and ply, mobile, electronics, dry cleaners, furniture.

Wednesday: Thangal Keithel-Hardware, sanitary fittings, tiles, marbles, motor parts, tyres, batteries; Paona Keithel-clothes (only western side), shoes, sports, eye glasses.

Thursday: Thangal Keithel - Clothes, shoes, stationeries, sports, utensils, crockery, electrical, paint, mattress and carpet; Paona Keithel-Luggage and bags, stationeries, jewelleries, cosmetics/photos, mattresses and carpets.

Friday: Thangal Keithel - Furniture, aluminium construction materials, plywood, utensils, electronics, computers, mobiles, weaving yarn; Paona Keithel - Clothes (only eastern side), weaving yarn, cycle, computer, glass and ply, mobile, electronics, dry cleaners, furniture.

Saturday: Thangal Keithel-Motor parts, tyres, hardware, sanitary fittings, tiles, marbles; Paona Keithel - Clothes (only western side), shoes, sports, eye glasses.

Hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, dispensaries and all chemists and pharmacies will be exempt from curfew restrictions, said the order and added that all DCs and SPs should enforce the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines) Regulation, strictly.

It was also instructed that Deputy Commissioners of other districts (other than Imphal East and Imphal West) shall prepare their own schedule for the markets based on the local requirements and needs of the district.
