KOTA: Unhappy over her proposed marriage, a 20-year-old girl ended her life by jumping into a well in Bhanwargarh town of Baran district on Thursday. The police handed over the body to family members after postmortem and lodged a case of unnatural death under Section 174 of CrPC for further investigation.
The girl was identified as Rachana Chandel, a resident of Bhanwargarh town, said Vijendra Singh, SHO, Bhanwargarh police station.
The girl along with her mother had gone for defecation in the open on Thursday morning. While they were passing by a well, she pulled her mother aside and jumped into the well, he added.
She had died by the time she was rescued from the well, he said.
Initial investigation revealed that the girl was not happy with her proposed marriage and wanted to marry someone else who she was reportedly in love with, the SHO said.
