Husband, wife convicted in drug case

Imphal, November 27 2020: Special Judge ND&PS Manipur, W Tonen today convicted Sougaijam Robindro Singh and his wife Lalrozami Duhlian under the ND&PS Act and fixed December 7 for sentence hearing.

Soon after the announcement of the Court judgment, Sougaijam Robindro (30) of Kakching Wairi Thongam Leikai at present staying at Moreh Super Market Ward Number 2 and his wife Lalrozami Duhlian were sent to judicial custody.

The order was announced today in an open Court after it was kept reserved after the final hearing on November 19 in connection with seizure of 5200 WY tablets, 100 grams of heroin powder, 28,801 Kyat (Burmese currency) Rs 1,13,150 Indian currency, a Hyundai Creta, 10 mobile phones, 3 bank passbooks, 2 bank cheque books, 2 ATM cards and several incriminating documents from their possession on May 4 last year by a combined team of Narcotic and Affair Border (Manipur) and Tengnoupal district police led by the then Additional SP of NAB Thounaojam Brinda.

The Court also informed and directed SP Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and Imphal Central Jail to produce the convicts for the sentence hearing scheduled to be held on December 7 this year.
