One thing's clear this holiday season: We're all going to be stuck indoors for a while longer. What better way to enjoy that time than with an audio upgrade? I've spent the past few years testing nearly all the latest and greatest headphones and speakers, and have scoured this year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals pages for my favorites. The good news is that this year is good for sound seekers!

Note: We strike through items that sell out or are no longer at their deal price as of publishing. Discounts sometimes return, so check for yourself. We will update this guide throughout the weekend.

Updated on November 27: We've checked all links, and added deals on the KEF LSX, Google Nest Mini, and JBL Link Portable.

Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-Year Subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you'd like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

Wireless Headphone Deals

Be sure to check out our lists of the best wireless headphones, best noise-canceling headphones, and best earbuds.

★ Best for Applers—AirPods Pro for $170 ($79 off)

Amazon, Walmart, Target ($200), Best Buy ($200)

The AirPods Pro have been on sale a lot lately, but have never dropped this low in price before. Note that shipping is delayed, but you can still order now and they will ship once available. These are great for iPhone, iPad, or MacBook owners, since they pair almost instantly and can switch between Apple devices seamlessly. The sound quality is outstanding, and they have excellent active noise canceling. They're the first version of AirPods to have silicone ear tips, so they're much more comfortable than the non-Pro model, plus you can just plop them on a wireless charger to recharge. We do not recommend Apple's standard, cheaper AirPods. They don't sound great or fit snugly.

★ Best Noise Canceling—Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones for $278 ($72 off)

Amazon, Target, Walmart ($280), Best Buy, B&H

The WH-1000XM4 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) are our favorite wireless headphones AND noise-canceling headphones, thanks to awesome sound, a great app, and a super comfy fit. They get an impressive 30 hours of battery life, have excellent touch controls, and can even detect when you're speaking, so you can hear quarantined housemates when you're talking to them.

Powerbeats Pro

★ Great for Workouts—Beats Powerbeats Pro for $160 ($90 off)

Amazon, Target, Best Buy

This sale is only for specific, less desired colors (like electric yellow), but who cares what color your ears are when you're working out. The Powerbeats Pro are some of our favorite headphones for breaking a sweat, especially for $90 off retail.

Beats Solo Pro Headphones for $170 ($130 off)

Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart ($198), B&H ($200)

The Beats Solo Pro are great headphones at this new lower price, with the excellent metallic build quality, and pretty darn good noise-canceling, not to mention a cool foldable design that makes them easy to throw in a backpack or purse.

1More Colorbuds

★ Best Earbuds—1More ColorBuds for $70 ($30 off)

Amazon, $80 at 1More

These are both the Best Wireless Earbuds and the Best Wireless Earbuds for $100 or Less—we highly recommend them, especially if you're on a budget.

JBL Live 650BTNC Headphones for $100 ($100 off)

Amazon, JBL, Walmart, Best Buy

JBL's Live 650BT sound great. Until October, they hovered between $150 and $200. Now that they're down to $100, they're a steal. I love that they have 30-hour battery life, a comfortable cloth headband, and cozy fake leather earpads. Even the noise-canceling is decent—more than adequate enough to quiet down kids or noisey roommates during the quarantine work week.

V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless for $200 ($80 off)

Best Buy

The Crossfade 2 Wireless are an excellent pair of over-ear headphones that are also pretty dang life-proof. They feature replaceable shells on the outside, and a sturdy metal headband that's got a firm grip, even on small heads. I also like that the hardcase comes with a built-in carabiner, which means they don't take up precious backpack space when moving around.

Bose Sport Earbuds for $159 ($20 off)

Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy

These new sport earbuds from Bose are some of our favorites of 2020, with sticky earfins and comfortable silicone eartips for lengthy workouts. They've also got pretty great microphones, for pre- or post-sweat calls.

Bose Noise Cancelling 700

With excellent microphones, a super comfortable fit, and the best noise-canceling technology that money can buy, these over-ear headphones from Bose are some of our favorites. Bose doesn't do large discounts, so if you're thinking of buying a pair, now is the time.

Jabra Elite Active 75T Earbuds for $150 ($50 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

The Jabra Elite Active 75T are some of the best workout buds around, thanks to an IP57 water and dust-resistant rating and a super ergonomic design. They also recently got an update that gave them active noise-canceling, which puts them on par with more expensive models from Apple, Sony, and Bose.

Galaxy Buds Live

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live Earbuds for $140 ($30 off)

Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy

Samsung's bean-shaped earbuds (7/10, WIRED Review) are some of the coolest looking around, and they also pack impressive sound. The design makes it so that the onboard mics aim perfectly at your mouth for calls, and the included charging case can juice up wirelessly from the back of Samsung's latest phones.

Speaker Deals

Whether you're looking for a brand new smart speaker to help you keep time in the kitchen, or a Bluetooth speaker for outdoor hangouts during quarantine, we have you covered.

Echo Dot (4th Gen.)

The Echo Dot is one of the best compact smart speakers you can buy, and this new, round version sounds better than ever.

Sonos Move

★ Smartest Portable Speaker—Sonos Move for $299 ($100 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

The Sonos Move is one of our favorite smart speakers and one of our favorite Bluetooth speakers baked into one. We like snagging it and bringing it outside for quarantined hangs, but leaving it inside for daily listening. It's also worth noting that Sonos doesn't do steep discounts that often, so now is a good time to buy one.

Nest Mini for $19 ($30 off)

Target, Walmart

You don't need a screen in every room, but Nest Minis add a way for the Nest system (they all link together) to hear and respond to you when you're away from your main hub. As WIRED's Scott Gilberston noted in his review, don't expect stellar sound quality for playing music. It's a speaker designed to communicate with you, not substitute for a Sonos.

★ Best Bluetooth Speaker—Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 for $100 ($39 off)

Target, Best Buy

Ultimate Ears revolutionized Bluetooth speakers with its iconic, hyper-durable tubes. They sound great, and can go anywhere, which makes them one of the best things to snag for yourself or a loved one who wants to jam outside. The Boom and Megaboom have been our favorite Bluetooth speakers for several years.

Marshall Emberton for $100 ($50 off)

Best Buy

I've been testing this little Marshall speaker for a few months now, and I absolutely love the thing. It has a durable design and an easy to use brass button lets you easily change tracks and pause tunes. There's also a visual battery meter on the top—something I wish we saw more often on Bluetooth speakers.

Bose Home Speaker 500

Bose Home Speaker 500 for $299 ($100 off)

Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy

The Bose Home Speaker 500 is a fantastic Alexa-powered speaker, but it's more spendy than our other favorite smart speakers. That said, it's a pretty great deal right now, and looks really cool when playing albums thanks to the LED display on the front that shows album art.

JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speaker for $70 ($40 off)

Amazon, Walmart, B&H, JBL

This discount extends to nearly every available JBL speaker. We didn't include the Flip 5 in our best Bluetooth speaker roundup, but it's a good speaker, and we generally like JBL's products. If you don't see the deal, try changing the speaker to another color scheme.

JBL Clip 3

Photograph: Amazon
JBL Clip 3 Mini Bluetooth Speaker for $30 ($40 off)

Amazon, Best Buy, JBL

We like the Clip 3 for on-the-go listening while cycling or hanging out in nature. It has a built-in carabiner, which makes it super easy to stick in on a pack, tree branch, or chain link fence, and it also comes in cool colors, so you'll know which one is yours.

JBL Link Portable Google Speaker for $90 ($90 off)

Home Depot, B&H, JBL Store

The Link Portable is the best Google Assistant-enabled speaker that you can move from room to room, dock, or use as a Bluetooth speaker out of the house. It gets about 8 hours of battery on a charge and can take commands as well as any Google speaker, though it doesn't have as accurate a microphone array for listening as many of the stationary speakers, so it will occasionally miss a command if you don't speak up.

LG XBoom 550 Speaker for $250 ($100 off)

Best Buy, Walmart ($262)

Getting bored during quarantine? Check out this giant Bluetooth speaker from LG, which doubles as a Karaoke machine. It even has cool lights in each speaker cone to help inspire you to sing.

KEF LSX Wireless Speakers for $800 ($450 off)

Amazon, KEF

KEF's excellent LSX speakers are a perfect hi-fi solution for apartments and smaller homes. KEF's iconic drivers place the woofer outside of the tweeter, for super-wide soundstage, and they've got Wi-Fi and Bluetooth onboard, for streaming your tunes with ease.
