As many as 2,227 cases were registered in Himachal for violations of curfew and lockdown since March 23, while 31,317 challans were made for not wearing mask and a fine of Rs 1,24,22,450 has been imposed.
Preventative action was taken against 2,304 persons and 1,934 vehicles were seized for violations.
So far, 1,339 police personnel have tested Covid-19 positive, out of which, 978 have recovered. One policeman died.
Violation of the directions of not wearing mask and not maintaining social distancing was being monitored by drones and CCTV cameras, said DGP Sanjay Kundu here on Friday.
The DGP said direction have been given to district SPs that any person found not wearing mask would be liable to arrest without warrant and on conviction would be punishable with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to eight days or a fine which may extend to Rs 5,000.
The compounding fee for the offence committed for not wearing mask would be Rs 1,000. The police have also sensitized 3,70,938 persons regarding Covid 19 behaviour and 22,665 hoardings and posters have been placed at various locations all across the state.
