Dutch ISPs present Black Friday promotions

Friday 27 November 2020 | 15:15 CET | News

Many large Dutch ISPs are running Black Friday promotions this year for new landline customers. The deals are in general available over a number of days and packaged as a discount, gift or free connection fee.

Under the deals:

  • KPN has expanded an existing promotion (6 months discount or SuperWifi) with the choice of a Sonos One speaker (EUR 229) or Sony headphones (EUR 245);
  • T-Mobile Netherlands has made activation free (worth EUR 30) and provided 6 months of Videoland;
  • Youfone is making connection costs free under the name BlackFriday but in fact the deal is not new;
  • Online is offers the choice of cashback (EUR 50.00), Veho ZB-6 headphones or one Google Nest mini. Online is also offering no connection costs and 6 months discount under the name Black Friday, but these existed already and do not apply to Delta fibre subscribers;
  • Budget All-in-1 is scrapping the activation costs of EUR 35.00. The choice between a 9-month discount or a Google Nest is now called Black Friday, but the deal existed before.

Not all providers are participating in Black Frida, such as Ziggo and Delta. Some promotions are not completely new, or will continue after 27 November. Online, for example, has put a countdown clock on the site until Monday 30 November, but according to the promotional terms and conditions, the promotional period will run from 16 November to 6 December.

Black Friday is known to 97 percent of Dutch consumers, according to Dutch e-commerce industry group Thuiswinkel.org.
