Blocking farmers' way with water cannons, digging up roads wrong: Priyanka

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday said the government must listen to the farmers' demand of including MSP in the new agriculture reform laws, instead of suppressing their voice, while they were on their way to the national capital.

She said the ryots wanted to come to Delhi, in view of voicing their concerns, however, the government tried to suppress them by stopping them from entering Delhi.

'Water cannons are being used, roads being dug up to block their way, but the government is neither ready to tell, not show them where it is mentioned in the new laws regarding the MSP,' added Ms Vadra.

She further said that a Prime Minister, who has concerns like one nation one election, must also implement one nation one behaviour, referring to the dealing with farmers.

Meanwhile, following the push and pull among the farmers and police personnel at the Delhi-Haryana border, police has permitted the farmers to enter Delhi and stage a peaceful protest at the Nirankari Grounds in Burari.

Police said that it has appealed to the peasants to maintain peace and also consider the pandemic times and stage a peaceful protest at the Nirankari Grounds in Burari.

Meanwhile, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former party chief Rahul Gandhi said that once in power at Centre, Congress will quash these three laws.
