Stock market update: Nifty Auto index gains 2%; TVS Motor climbs 5%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto index was trading with gains at 01:01PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Exide Industries (up 5.36 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 5.25 per cent), Tata Motors (up 4.63 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 4.0 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (up 3.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bosch (down 0.52 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 2.02 per cent up at 8944.55 around 01:01PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.50 points at 12990.5, while the BSE Sensex was down -19.74 points at 44240.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Tata Motors and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Varun Beverages, Wockhardt, Chola Inv Fin, Narayana Hrud and TVS Motor hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., Standard Industries Ltd. and We Win Ltd. hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
