Gold was marginally down by Rs 43 to Rs 48,142 per 10 gram on Friday in the national capital, according to HDFC Securities.
In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 48,185 per 10 gram.

Silver also declined Rs 36 to Rs 59,250 per kg, from Rs 59,286 per kg in the previous trade.

In the international market, gold was marginally higher at USD 1,810 per ounce and silver was flat at USD 23.29 per ounce.

"Gold prices witnessed some short recovery as investors turned cautious over vaccine progress. Stimulus hopes may support bullion prices," HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said.
