Globe launches VoLTE service in Visayas and Mindanao in 2021

Friday 27 November 2020 | 15:58 CET | News
Philippines operator Globe Telecom has announced it will launch its VoLTE service to Visayas and Mindanao in 2021. The company says the expansion of its VoLTE coverage will include the entire provinces of Cebu, Davao Del Sur and Davao Del Norte by January 2021.

Globe’s VoLTE service is currently available in the provinces of NCR, Rizal, Cavite and Bulacan. VoLTE and VoWiFi calls will be charged like a regular call but customers who are registered to a Globe unli call promo can also have unli VoLTE and VoWiFi calls within the Globe network.

Globe has laid out a 3-pronged strategy for its network upgrades and expansion, which includes cell site deployments; upgrading cell sites to 4G/LTE using various frequencies; and fast tracking the fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.
