Fixed telephony traffic lifted 7.2 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, according to data published by Portugal’s National Communications Authority (Anacom). The average call duration on fixed networks meanwhile advanced by 10.7 percent.
Fixed telephony penetration rate amounted to 50.3 percent, while the number of fixed telephony customers with direct access climbed 2.3 percent to 4.2 million.
Main telephone accesses reached 5.2 million, thanks to an increase in VoIP/VoB accesses (+299,000). NGN accesses (FTTH, cable and mobile networks in fixed location) represented 79.7 percent of main telephony accesses.
Meo’s direct access customer share reached 42.1 percent, followed by NOS Group (35.6%), Vodafone Portugal (18.8%) and Nowo/Onitelecom Group (3.3%).
