Taking care of stranded: Ministry

Responding to MP Gurjit Singh Aujla’s demand for repatriation of Indian women nationals stranded in Oman, the Indian External Affairs (IEA) Ministry stated that its Embassy was already taking care of them.

The IEA stated that at present there were 24 women in the Oman Embassy shelter. Out of them, 12 were absconders. The Embassy had already registered them under the Amnesty scheme announced recently by the Government of Oman. Absconders are among the entitled categories for availing Amnesty. — TNS
