Cyclone 'Nivaran' hit the coast of Tamil Nadu. The government and NDRF teams are cautious about this. Public holidays have been announced in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu. Employees of various state and central agencies including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Coast Guard, Fire Department have been deployed to deal with any situation. Nearly 1,200 NDRF rescue personnel have been deployed in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry in the wake of cyclone prevention and 800 more have been kept on standby.
