After Aurangabad, MNS agitators detained in Thane

Thane, Nov 26 (UNI) More than 200 activists and leaders of the MNS were detained here on Thursday as they defied the police orders and attempted a march to the Collectorate to protest against hefty lockdown power bills.

The leaders who were detained include Abhijit Phanse, the senior leader from the state unit, Thane-Palghar Chief Avinash Jadhav and Thane city unit chief Ravindra More.

The city police refused permission to the MNS for the march, citing pandemic situation and lockdown regulations.

However, Mr Jadhav told media persons that they protested for the citizen's woes and went ahead with the march. Since morning several of the activists assembled near the party office.
Later, the leaders walked short distance shouting slogans after which police packed them in a
police van.
Shouting at the top of his voice, Mr Jadhav alleged that the MVA government was crushing the voice of the common citizens and political parties resorting to protest.
Earlier in the day, Aurangabad MNS leader Suhas Dashrathe and others were detained as they defied Section 144 and tried to carry out a march against the power bills issue.
