Public servants must be torch bearers of Constitution rather than be in political stance : Dhankhar

Kolkata, Nov 26 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday asserted that public servants must be torch bearers of Constitution rather than be in political stance.

Taking to his twitter handle on the occasion of Constitution Day, Mr Dhankhar said, " Greetings on #ConstitutionDay Rs A day to remind ourselves on the ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity that are the essence of India's democratic spirit. "

"Let us on this day take a pledge to observe our fundamental duties for the progress of the nation, " he added.

" Adherence to constitution is quintessential to survival of democracy," the Governor observed.

" Time @MamataOfficial to follow constitutional norms, rule of law and protect human values and rights of the people," Mr Dhankhar stated.

"Public servants must be torch bearers of Constitution rather than be in political stance," averred the Governor.
