Drugs Case: Kshitij Prasad Granted Bail By Special NDPS Court
Kshitij Prasad, the former Dharmatic Entertainment employee was granted bail by a Special NDPS court on Thursday (November 26, 2020), on a bond of Rs 50000. Prasad was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 26, in connection with a drugs case linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The bail order reads, "In connection with C.R. No. 16/2020), regsistered with Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai, the applicant Kshitij Ravi Prasad S/o. Ravi Prasad, is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing PR Bond in the sum of Rs 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only) with one or two sureties in the amount."
"However, four weeks time is granted to furnish solvent surety. Till then applicant/accused be released on provisional cash bail of Rs 50,000/- ((Rs. Fifty Thousand only). The duration of provisional cash bail shall be four weeks," the bail order further read.
Further, Kshitij has been asked to deposit his passport, if any with the investigating agency. The order states that Kshitij cannot leave the country without prior permission from the court. Further, if he has to go out of Greater Mumbai, he will have to gave his itinerary to the Investigating Officer in advance.
However, Kshitij will not walk out of the jail today as he has been implicated in another drug case, the hearing of which will be held on December 3, 2020.
Earlier, Kshitij had submitted a plea through his lawyer, Advocate Satish Maneshinde, in which he had alleged that he had been "coerced into falsely implicating" actors Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea and Arjun Rampal by the NCB. However, the investigating agency had denied Kshitij's allegations.
