Five kg of chana will be given free of cost to the Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household Ration Cardholders through ration shops from December 1. An official of the district supply officer's office said that the central government had announced plans to give one kg of a gram to Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household Cardholders from July to November under the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana a few months ago.

To provide relief to poor families, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the government has provided more than 80 crore ration card holders with five kilograms of grain (wheat or rice) per person and per person, on the basis of members registered in the ration card for April, May and June The family was announced to give one kilo of pulses free.

This free five-kilo grain is in addition to the existing quota of grains on the ration card. After this, this scheme (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana) was extended till Diwali and Chhath Puja i.e. by 30 November 2020 this scheme can be availed.

By November 30, five kilograms of free grain will be made available to about 80 crore poor people of the country. Under this, in addition to the existing quota of grains, five kg of wheat or rice per person and one kg of gram dal per family is being received free.
