New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Under the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative of the Government, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Central Electronics Limited (CEL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, for developing various indigenous rail engineering and system technologies.

The MoU was signed between CEL's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) B N Sarkar and DMRC's Director (Operations) A K Garg at Metro Bhawan, in the presence of DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh and other senior officials from both the organisations, a DMRC spokesperson said here.

Under this MoU, both the organisations will take up indigenous development for mutual benefit under the 'Make in India' initiative, for Broken Rail Detection system, Theft Intrusion Detection System, Concrete Health Monitoring system, Remote Health Monitoring of Point Machines, Multi Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) and MSDAC with ATP to replace older technologies.

Dr Singh termed this development as a major step forward towards the development of indigenous technologies. He added that this association will not only achieve Obsolescence Management, but also add value in operations meeting reliability and punctuality of Metro rail systems.

To take the project forward, the dedicated teams of DMRC and CEL will work together to inch towards the concept of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' noted Dr Singh.

The Central Electronics Limited, Sahibabad (UP) is a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Science and Technology, working in the field of research and development of various technologies.
