PM, CM responsible for ruining farmers, labourers, traders in Punjab: AAP

Chandigarh, Nov 26 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of Punjab on Thursday strongly condemned the atrocities being orchestrated upon the farmers of Punjab and blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, for stopping them from taking their protest march to Delhi against the three controversial Central Agricultural laws, enacted by the Centre.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here, state unit president and Sangrur Lok Sabha member Bhagwant Mann said that stopping the farmers' protest march from reaching Delhi by brute force was a highly reprehensible act on part of the Union and Haryana governments, adding that AAP strongly condemns such a move to bulldoze the farmers' stir.

Mr Mann said ''Our Constitution guarantees us the right to protest in a democratic manner. It is a matter of grave concern that the BJP government has crossed all limits of constitutional propriety by denying the farmers their legitimate right to hold protests against the draconian agriculture marketing laws, enacted by the Centre.''
He said it was the democratic right of the farmers to fight for their rights and no one can take away this right from them, adding that the Aam Aadmi Party would go to any extent to fight for the rights of the farmers.
The Sangrur MP said the MSP regime was the statutory right of the farmers and the Aam Aadmi Party would fight tooth and nail to ensure legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers on all the crops.

Mr Mann said that due to the poor governance of the Modi government at the Centre and the Captain's government in the state that all sections of the society, including farmers, labourers and traders were facing problems on all fronts.
Slamming Captain Singh for his back and forth stance, Mr Mann said he had proved himself as the weakest Chief Minister of the country, saying that had he cared for the farmers and addressed their concerns, the farmers, labourers and traders in the state would not have had to see this black day.
