Stock market update: Auto stocks slip; Eicher Motors sheds 2%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto stocks were trading on a negative note at 01:19PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Eicher Motors (down 2.08 per cent), MRF (down 1.77 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 1.66 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.17 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.8 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Bharat Forge (up 3.54 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.24 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.95 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.91 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.3 per cent down at 8712.5 around 01:19PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 52.20 points at 12910.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 166.46 points at 43994.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, BHEL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of India Cements, Tanla Solutions, ICICI Lombard, EID Parry and Dixon Tech hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., Standard Industries Ltd., Sona Hi Sona Jewellers (Gujarat) Ltd. and Jiya Eco Products Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
