Ukrainian operator Kyivstar has launched its LTE networks on the 900 MHz band in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Refarming of frequency resources has recently been completed there. LTE services on the 900 MHz band are currently available in all regions across the country.
A total of 84,000 residents in the two regions have been covered in 90 villages. Mobile broadband services from Kyivstar are now available in almost 14,000 sites, for 85 percent of the country’s population. The operator plans to cover at least 90 percent of the population with LTE by July 2022.
Since the start of the year, Kyivstar has invested UAH 4.3 billion into network deployment. The company has spent over UAH 28 billion on 3G and LTE over the past five years.
