Indore district of Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing a concentration of new cases of COVID-19 in the ongoing second wave in November.
The area-wise analysis of virus infections in the district showed around 50 areas constituted about 29% of cases reported till the 20th of the month. Of those 2996 new infection cases reported till November 20, 859 were from those 50 areas.
Those 50 areas were among the ones with the highest number of caseload during this second wave of the virus infection. Dr Anil Dongre, district contact tracing in-charge said, “Those are the 50 areas with highest number of infections in first 20 days of November during the ongoing re-surge.”
The phenomenon was reported in those areas because of more movement, intermingling, and others in the last couple of weeks along with complacency in following precautionary measures said Dr Dongre.
