In a statement, he said, " I am shocked beyond words that a TMC leader, Kalyan Banerjee Ji who also happens to be a Member of Parliament and a lawyer, can have so blatant disregard for our Constitution and its provisions. "
" Kalyan ji''s threat to file criminal charges against Hon''ble Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankar Ji, who is officially the First Citizen of the state, for speaking out against misgovernance and lapses of the TMC Government is frightening and reprehensive, " he added." />

Bista hits out at Kalyan Banerjee

Kolkata, Nov 26 (UNI) Reacting to TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee's comment on Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, BJP MP from Darjeeling Raju Bista on Thursday said, " This is a prime example of how TMC party has misused the law to muzzle all voices that highlight their corruption, misgovernance and misuse of state machinery against common people. "
In a statement, he said, " I am shocked beyond words that a TMC leader, Kalyan Banerjee Ji who also happens to be a Member of Parliament and a lawyer, can have so blatant disregard for our Constitution and its provisions. "
" Kalyan ji's threat to file criminal charges against Hon'ble Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankar Ji, who is officially the First Citizen of the state, for speaking out against misgovernance and lapses of the TMC Government is frightening and reprehensive, " he added.
" This is a prime example of how TMC party has misused the law to muzzle all voices that highlight their corruption, misgovernance and misuse of state machinery against common people, " he noted.
" If the First Citizen of the state is not safe from the bullying of the ruling party, what hope is there for ordinary citizens? " he questioned.
" There is no regards for the constitution and rule of law in West Bengal and such threats and pressures using state police and administration is not something new here. The threat of administrative victimization of citizens for speaking out against the corruption of the ruling government looms large over one and all in West Bengal. Today in threatening Hon'ble governor TMC has exposed its dictatorial side, where all voices that do not agree with them are silenced by hook or crook, " he stated.
" Perhaps TMC leaders do not know that our Constitution enables and empowers Hon'ble Governor and he has every right to speak out against misgovernance in the state. We as citizens are grateful that he has always placed people's concern and welfare first, " he further said.
