Half-day Govt leave in Assam for Tarun Gogoi's cremation

Guwahati, Nov 25 (UNI) The Assam government has announced half day leave for government offices tomorrow due to cremation of former state chief minister Tarun Gogoi.
All government offices, semi-Government undertakings and PSUs will be closed at 1 pm tomorrow, an official statement informed.
The state government had earlier declared three-day mourning from yesterday as a mark of respect for the deceased leader.
Gogoi, the longest-serving chief minister of the state, had died at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital here on November 23 at the age of 86 due to post-COVID complications.
The cremation will be performed at Nabagraha crematorium here tomorrow.
