JAMMU: After scoring a fabulous half-century in the first outing on the other day, former First Class cricketer Vimarsh Kaw scored brilliant 75 runs to take his side to victory on Tuesday, while youngsters Praful Dhar, Rahul and Shivam impressed with their all-round ability to help their sides emerge victorious and seal berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League being organised under the banner of Iqwaat Sports Organisation, an initiative of Vishva Kashmiri Samaj at MA Stadium, here.
While Vimarsh displayed his extraordinary skill with the willow, Praful and Rahul showed grit and guts with both bat and ball and Shivam did it with batting and wicket-keeping skills.
Earlier, in the first match, RCC Bulls got the better of Lal Ded Warriors by a margin of 30 runs to remain unconquered in their pool and emerge group topper.
Batting first, RCC Bulls scored a fighting total of 133 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing seven wickets in the process. Vimarsh Kaw was at his classic best, scoring 75 runs off 61 balls, studded with nine fours and a six, while another opening batsman Puneet Wattal contributed valuable 27 runs off 20 balls with the help of five boundaries. Praful Dhar also contributed 12 runs off 15 balls including a boundary, while skipper Rakesh Koul was unlucky to be run out on 6.
For Lal Ded Warriors, Rahul Koul was the pick of the bowlers who took three important wickets.
In reply, Lal Ded Warriors managed to score 103 runs, thus lost the match by 30 runs. Shivam Tickoo top scored with 26 runs, while Sonu Zutshi contributed 22 runs to the total and Tanish Raina made 17 runs.
For RCC Bulls, Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers, who took three wickets by conceding just 14 runs in his four overs, while Ravi Pandita also bagged three wickets in his four overs by giving away 22 runs. Rohit Pandita also took two wickets and Rakesh Koul claimed one wicket. Vimarsh Kaw was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his superb batting show.
In another match, Satisar Cricket Club drubbed Surinder Cricket Club by five wickets.
Batting first, Surinder Cricket Club scored a modest total of 101 runs in the allotted overs. Vikas VIjay, Raju and Sanjay contributed 19, 17, 16 and 13 runs to the total respectively. For Satisar, Rahul and Akash Reshi claimed two wickets each.
Satisar Cricket Club, in reply, scored 103 runs in 17.2 overs, thus won the match by five wickets. Ronak Koul and Shivam Koul played valuable knocks of 37 and 35 runs respectively, while Rahul Kuchroo contributed 28 runs to the total. Ronak hit for fours and two sixes, Shivam struck four boundaries and Rahul hit three boundaries in their knocks.
For Surinder Cricket Club, Rahul Kuchroo bagged three wickets while Rajesh and Romy claimed one wicket each. Rahul of Satisar Club was adjudged as the Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Raina, Sanjay Raina and Vijay Raina, while the tournament is being organised by Rajesh Dhar, Ankur Bagati and Ashish Kachroo.
