Data network and software services provider Cinia said it has agreed to acquire the entire share capital of OptimeSys, an ICT company specialising in cyber security. The deal will take effect on 04 January and will make Cinia one of the most significant cyber security providers in Finland, it said. OptimeSys employs about 45 people so the acquisition will increase Cinia's personnel to approximately 350.
CEO Ari-Jussi Knaapila said Cinia’s business is built on the three cornerstones of network, software and cyber security services and that cyber security is the core element of Cinia's services and customer promise.
Cinia said the Finnish cyber security market is growing rapidly at small and medium-sized enterprises, which are now purchasing professionally managed cyber security as a service. Cinia sees cyber security as an opportunity to promote the growth of its business.
Toni Kari, CEO of OptimeSys Services, said joining forces with Cinia will make it possible to serve customers even better and more comprehensively. From the customer perspective, the most significant change will be that the OptimeSys cyber security centre will start to operate around the clock following this transaction.
