Trinamool Congress hits out at BJP Mahila Morcha leader Agnimitra Paul

Trinamool Congress hits out at BJP Mahila Morcha leader Agnimitra Paul

Kolkata, Nov 25 (UNI) The All India Trinamool Congress on Wednesday came down heavily on BJP Mahila Morcha leader Agnimitra Paul for her comments on Viswa Bharati University and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The party condemned whatever Paul has said during her event in East Midnapore.

From her astounding claims about the Viswa Bharati University campus being used for “sex-racket” to targeting Bengal Chief Minister supporting rape are not just attempts to malign the state government but also shaming the culture of Bengal, the party added.

" With this, time and again we have seen BJP Bengal leaders disrespecting the values of Bengal, " the party stated.

Taking to Twitter handle, party secretary-general Partha Chatterjee said, " Today is International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women & I feel ashamed to read that @BJP4Bengal's @paulagnimitra1 has passed such spiteful comments that not only disrespect our CM but also the entire womankind! "

Trinamool Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, " Rapes & murders are on the rise in @BJP4India ruled states, but the President of @BJP4Bengal's Mahila Morcha making such outrageous statements is NOT what we wanted to wake up to on the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women. #MahilaBirodhiBJP, indeed! "

" Time & time again we see @BJP4India's ideology manifesting in absolutely appalling forms. @paulagnimitra1, these statements not only disrespects our CM @MamataOfficial but, disrespects the values of Bengal. Disgusted beyond words! #MahilaBirodhiBJP, " comment Trinamool Lok Sabha MP Nusrat Jahan.

" These shocking statements of @paulagnimitra1 speaks volume of how regressively @BJP4Bengal

leaders think of women! " said State Minister Dr Sashi Panja.

"Disgraceful to see how low one can stoop simply to attack the only woman CM of the country. #MahilaBirodhiBJP" added Dr Panja.
