Noida: Four injured in gas cylinder blast in Sector 62

NOIDA: At least four people, including a 10-year-old boy, have been seriously injured after an LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Nawada village in Sector 62.
The child has been referred to Safdarjung hospital, and his parents and a neighbour who came to the house to rescue them and got injured, were admitted to district hospital from where they were discharged.
According to police, a family member had left the gas switched on by mistake through Sunday night and the blast happened as soon as the boy’s mother Roshni tried to light a burner the following morning for preparing tea. Roshni and the boy received serious injuries.
When her husband and a neighbour, Shanti, rushed to save them, they also suffered burns. “While the injured were first taken to a private hospital, the child was referred to Safdarjung hospital where he is recovering,” ACP 2 Rajnish Kumar told TOI. The rest are under treatment at the district hospital in Sector 30, he said.
Sector 58 SHO, Anil Kumar, said as soon as information was received by PCR, the team rushed the injured to the hospital. Police said the one-room set the family lived in has also been damaged in the incident.
