Man booked on rape charge

Zirakpur: The police have registered a case against a man for allegedly cheating a woman and raping her at a hotel in Dhakoli here on Tuesday. The suspect has been identified as Arun, a resident of Mandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir. After the Panchkula police registered a zero FIR against the suspect at the Chandimandir police station, the matter was referred to the Zirakpur police. In her statement to the police, the complainant said she was having an estranged relationship with her husband. During this time, he met Arun, who made physical relations with her on the pretext of marrying her. The police have registered a case against the suspect, who is absconding. — TNS
